Anya Taylor Joy was born on April 16, 1996, on American soil, particularly in Miami, Florida, where her family lived at the time. When she was a toddler, her family moved to Argentina, and she grew up speaking only Spanish before moving back to London at the age of six. There Anya learned to speak English. She completed preparatory school education at Hill House in Kensington, followed by Northlands School and then Queen’s Gate School in London.
She was trained as a ballet dancer but decided to give up this dream as the constant migration of her family never gave her the stability she needed to start a career in this discipline.
