Where was Arnold Contreras when Gabriel Fernandez was getting tortured?
Normally, all three siblings (Gabriel, Virginia, and Ezekiel) stayed with their grandparents, but in 2012 Pearl obtained custody of Gabriel and took him away from Contreras.
Gabriel is now left alone with his mother and Isauro Aguirre. They both doubted that he was gay and therefore attacked him. Post-mortem reports revealed that the child had been beaten with a belt, burned with a cigarette, and had cuts on various parts of his body.
The doctor revealed that he had never seen such a condition in a child. During Gabriel’s trial, Contreras said: “I should have been there”.

The court punished Pearl and his friend, but according to Arnold Contreras, his parents, and relatives, 4 DCFS (Department of Children and Families) employees should also be punished for negligence.
Gabriel’s family claims that they have filed more than 60 complaints against Perla and Isauro Aguirre, but the county DCFS failed to act and as a result, the child suffered and lost his life.
Gabriel’s cousin, Emily Carranza, claimed that the baby, 6 feet under the ground, should have been alive. Even she agreed that she too had filed complaints with DCFS, but nothing was done.
