Carlos Correa Biography and Age

As Carlos Javier Correa Oppenheimer, the MLB star was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico on September 22, 1994. Since his parents, Carlos sen. and Sandybel Oppenheimer, were not very well off, his childhood in the village of Barrio Velázquez was not marked by bitter poverty.

Since he was only a small child, Carlos began to play, and a neighbor suggested that he be sent to a youth league when he was 5 years old. His father coached him every day, even after the family lost their home after Hurricane Georges in 1998, which destroyed the family home, and the situation forced him to take on some odd jobs.

Soon he played in the American Amateur Baseball Congress and then in the Rio Grande, which chose him to play for them in the championship series that was held in Atlanta at that time. By this time his family was too poor to finance his trip to the Rio Grande community, so the community and his former team helped to fund his travel to practice. Correa was named the most valuable player at the tournament.
