The couple was together for a short time while shooting one of his films, Ferris Bueller. After the end of his relationship with the actress, Charlie Schlatter met Colleen Gunderson and fell in love with her, whom he finally married in 1994.
Since then they have remained together as a couple and have born and raised three children – two daughters named Julia Marie Schlatter and Quinn Schlatter and a son, Beck Frederick Schlatter.
