Charlotte Flair was born on April 5, 1986, under the birth name Ashley Elizabeth Fliehr as the daughter of the parents Ric Flair and Elizabeth in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA. She has a stepsister and a brother named Megan and David and a younger brother Ried, who is said to have died in March 2013. Flair attended Providence High School, where she played volleyball and won two state championship titles as well as the title of Player of the Year for the 2004/2005 season. After high school, she enrolled at Appalachian State University where she continued to play volleyball. Flair signed with the WWE in May 2012, where she was coached by coaches such as Lodi and Sara Del Rey and appeared in her first televised match in July 2013 under the ring name Charlotte Flair. In the same year, she formed an alliance with Team The BFF and created her new identity as the “bad girl” in the group, which merged with Sasha Banks and Summer Rae. The following year, she won her first NXT Women’s Champion title when she defeated wrestler Natalya in the NXT takeover. Flair received her first shot on the WWE roaster on December 8, 2014, in an untitled match in which she lost to her opponent Natalya.
