Danielle Cohn, popularly known as Dani, is a controversial American teenage actress, model, social media personality, vlogger and recording artist who is under contract with the Audity Music label. She caught the attention of the Internet community through the app musical.ly, now known as TikTok after she began posting under the name @DanielleCohn. Following the release of her first single “Marilyn Monroe” in 2017, the young girl now has more than 10 million fans on the app. In March 2018 she also released the music video for her song “Little Like Paradise”.

On one of those nights, Danielle Cohn, who was just 11 years old at the time, stumbled across Instagram, where she discovered an app called Musical.ly that allows users to upload short videos of themselves lip-synced to popular songs and then share them with other users.

Her first 15-second lip-sync video was recorded and shared in the app in 2016, but according to Danielle, she didn’t really like the app at first. However, she started to like the lip-sync part and started using it frequently. After that, she had enough videos in the app that brought her to the top of the Musical.ly ranking and not long after that, she had a million followers.
In October 2016, the star of Musical.ly received her first advertising request, and at that time she opened the door to her mother about what she had done with the app and what a chance she could earn with it. Danielle’s mother was shocked that her little daughter would earn much more than what she earns in one week. According to Jen, an average advertising or sponsored video opportunity on Musical.ly at the time offered $400 to $500, and Danielle Cohn would receive many requests in a week.
The total money she made from a handful of brand-sponsored, lip-synced videos was also more than what the child’s mother earned from her two jobs combined. Danielle’s mother took responsibility for submitting the incoming requests and receiving payments on her daughter’s behalf, putting the money she earned through ads into another account for college.
As Danielle’s fan base and the audience grew, so did her payment for ads on Musical.ly, and soon mother and daughter began receiving invitations from companies to business meetings in Los Angeles. As Danielle’s Internet career grew, her mother decided to quit her night job as a cashier to help her manage her personal brand. In 2017, 13-year-old Daniel Cohn, who wanted to transform her massive social media succession into a music career, moved with her family from Orlando to Los Angeles, as she and her mother had already spent much time there.
Her mother quit her job as a teacher, enrolled Danielle in online courses at a private Christian school, and took a new full-time job as her daughter’s manager. The teenager now has more than 10 million fans on Musical.ly and she entered 2018 by signing partnership and sponsorship agreements with brands such as Samsung, Six Flags, and Live Nation, among others.

The internet star has been with a number of guys, including Sebastian Topete, her co-musical.ly star, who was 17 when she was 13. Many of her followers found the relationship very inappropriate, but not Danielle’s mother, who said the duo had been friends for more than a year before they became a couple.
