The man who would one day play a contender for the Iron Throne in Westeros was born on 9 October 1983 in Stratford-upon-Avon, England. Much of his personal background is unknown, but his academic journey began at Aston Hayes Primary School and he attended several other primary schools before moving on to secondary school at Tiffin School.

After completing his primary education he was awarded a scholarship to the British American Drama Academy and spent his higher education at Oxford University, where he studied English literature at Balliol College. While still at Oxford University, Gethin Anthony displayed the brilliance that has characterized his career to date and rose to become President of the Dramatic Society of the prestigious school.
After his time in Oxford, he moved to the London Academy of Music and Performing Arts where he completed his training as an actor. Armed with several years of training and his own innate talent, Gethin Anthony began his career as an actor on stage, where he appeared in plays such as Macbeth, The Comedy of Errors, Europe, and several others, including many works by William Shakespeare.
He made his screen debut in Holby City, where he played Drew Kramer in one episode of the show, and in the same year, he starred in his first feature-length film, a television movie called Pinochet’s Last Fight as William Straw.
