After graduating high school, she was accepted to the University of Oberlin – famous for its liberal arts programs – in Oberlin, Ohio, USA. After Drew Grant graduated from college, she wasted no time in securing a job to begin her career in journalism. Her first job was as an editorial assistant, an internship of sorts, at 236.com in 2007, where she reported on pop culture – one of her passions. She worked for this organization for 18 months, until she was left with some time in 2008. She then moved to Jossip Initiatives, where she worked as an editor, reporting on very big events and telling great stories. She only worked briefly with this organization for 10 months, until May 2009, when Drew Grant followed another passion of hers – blogging; she started blogging for an outlet called Nerve. In 2009 she joined an online media company – Crushable.com – as an editor. She worked there for about 2 years and left in February 2011. In the same month, Drew took a job as a pop culture writer for the Salon Media Group; she worked there for only 7 months and left the company.
Drew became known in her field while working as a staff writer for The Observer in New York City. Through hard work and diligence, she climbed the career ladder and eventually became the art and entertainment editor of The Observer. She worked there for several years before finally leaving in June 2017. In late 2017 she joined Real Clear Media Group, but left after only 6 months, in April 2018.
At the time of writing this article, Drew Grant is working for a media company called Ranker. For a time, she worked as a freelance content writer for popular media outlets such as Forbes, Bunny Ears, Cosmopolitan, AV Club, and several others. In 2010, Drew Grant was at a social event where she was introduced by a friend to a certain Ari Melber. Ari is a law student who practiced in several companies before turning to journalism. Melber, like Drew, quickly rose through the ranks through hard work and dedication to host his own talk show on the MSNBC network called The Beat with Ari Melber. After spending three years with Drew, Ari finally proposed and she accepted. They got married in 2014 in a very private ceremony to which only a few guests were invited. After being married for three years, the couple announced that they would divorce in 2017; no official reason for their decision was given. There is some speculation that infidelity was the undiscovered reason for the separation.
