Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) Parents, Ethnicity, and Background Details
The Rock was born on 2 May 1972 as Dwayne Douglas Johnson. He is the son of a professional wrestler, Rocky Johnson and Ata Maivia Johnson, who born their son in Hayward, California.
Considering that his father and maternal grandfather were wrestlers, some would say that wrestling through his blood came to Dwayne Johnson. However, before he fully enjoyed the life of professional wrestling, he played college football for the University of Miami and followed in the footsteps of his wrestler-oriented family members when he was cut off from the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League in 1995.
His ethnicity is rich in his mother from a Samoan family and his father, who is a black Canadian with a small amount of Irish descent. When he was younger, Dwayne Johnson briefly stayed with his mother’s family in Grey Lynn, New Zealand. He would later return to the United States with his parents as his father’s job took him to Connecticut, Hawaii, and Pennsylvania.
The Rock was heavily involved in sports such as football, athletics, and wrestling during his high school days. After he was cut off from football and declared to his father his intention to start wrestling, his father opposed the idea. He later gave in on the condition that he would train him and not make it easy for him.
As Dwayne Johnson, he was nominated by Pat Petterson for many World Wrestling Federation auditions in 1996. In one of these games he won against the Brooklyn Brawler, but also lost several other games. It was the beginning of the birth of The Rock, who is now considered one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. He was celebrated by numerous people in wrestling, including Hulk Hogan and John Cena. A brief highlight of his wrestling career would be eight WWF/WWE Championships, two WCW/World Championships, two WWF Intercontinental Championships and five WWF Tag Team Championships. He also won the Royal Rumble 2000.
While Dwayne Johnson was still fully involved in wrestling, she took on small roles on the big screen. His first official leading role was in The Scorpion King in 2002. He was paid a whopping $5.5 million to be the highest-paid actor in his first lead role in the Guinness Book of Records. Since then, he has built a successful career in Hollywood, where he is known for his work ethic – he regularly works on numerous projects at once. The Rock’s Wife and Daughter
Dwayne Johnson actually met the woman who was to become his wife at the University of Maimi. Her name is Danny Garcia and they got married on May 3, 1997. Danny Garcia became a member of the Board of Trustees of the University of Maimi and also founded a Miami-based asset management company. The two have a daughter called Simone. She was born on August 14, 2001. In June 2007, the couple announced that they were separating.
After the divorce, Dwayne Johnson started dating Lauren Hashian. The two met while The Rock was turning the schedule. Lauren Hashian is the daughter of Sib Hashian, the late Boston drummer. They had a daughter, Jasmine, on December 16, 2015, and another daughter, Tiana Gia Johnson, on April 17, 2018.
