Edie Falco, of Swedish and Italian descent, was born on July 5, 1963, in New York City, New York, as Edith Falco. Her parents were both active in the entertainment industry. While her mother, Judith Anderson, was an actress, her father, Frank Falco, was a jazz drummer. Furthermore, her uncle, Edward Falco, is a poet and playwright.
Falco grew up with three siblings in various places, including Long Island, Hicksville, and West Islip. For her education, she attended Northport High School, which she graduated from, and then went to the State University of New York at Purchase, where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in acting.
