Geronimo Allison was not drafted in the 2016 NFL draft but caught the eye of the Green Bay Packers, who signed it in May 2016. He plays as a wide receiver on the team, and although he hasn’t seen much time on the field and is apparently struggling to make it onto the team’s receiver list, he is expected to be an outstanding player in his chosen profession.
Geronimo Allison Bio
The Packers’ wide receiver was named Geronimo John Allison after its birth on January 18, 1994, in Tampa, Florida. He attended Spoto High School in Rearview, Florida, where he proved to be athletically connected, even though he played soccer for a season. He did not play soccer in the second and third grade because he did not try hard enough in class, which resulted in his not being accepted into the school. In his senior year, however, he set sail for his career on the sidelines. He finished the phase with 26 receptions for 547 yards and scored 4 touchdowns (TDs). He also wrote twice in baseball and once in athletics.
After high school, he transferred to the Iowa Western Community College, where he proved to be not only an asset to the football team but also a bright student. He earned his Associate degree in just three semesters. From Iowa, however, he would transfer to the University of Illinois in 2014, where he would land on the Packers’ radar after two years on the field. Allison led the team to the 2012 NJCAA national title with a perfect 11-0 record, and in 2013 he also led them to an 11-1 record in the Graphic Edge Bowl. His 69 receptions over 872 yards and eight touchdowns led the Midwest Football Conference in all three categories.
He ended his career in Iowa with 95 receptions for 1,300 receptions and 10 touchdowns, including his career with high 65 receptions and 882 yards in his senior year, which earned him an honorable mention from coaches and media. Among the many awards he received, he was selected for the Biletnikoff Midseason Watch List 2015 and won the Illini’s Service Above Self Award.

From Iowa Western, he moved to Illinois, where he played two seasons on the Illinois Fighting Illini soccer team and earned a bachelor’s degree in communications. In Fighting Illini, Allison started 22 of 24 games, caught 106 passes for 1,480 yards and eight TDs in two seasons.
NFL Career
Geronimo Allison was signed by the Green Bay Packers on May 6, 2016, as an undeveloped free agent after being undeveloped in the 2016 NFL draft. He made his professional debut against the Atlanta Falcons after moving up from the team’s practice squad to the active squad, eventually completing ten games and two starts as a rookie. His first reception in his career came with a four-yard touchdown by Aaron Rodgers in the second quarter of the game in week 8 in Atlanta.
In 2016 he ended the season with 12 receptions for 202 yards and 2 TDs with another 65 yards on five catches in three post-season games. The 2017 season began on a rather strange pedestal, but he managed to save it in the long run. In July 2017 he was suspended for one match for violation of the league’s substance abuse policy. For the rest of the season, he only saw limited time on the field, most of which did not prove to be very effective and produced little. He ended the season without a touchdown, although he intercepted 23 passes for 253 yards in 15 games. Nevertheless, he was re-signed by the Packers on March 14, 2018.
Allison enters the 2018 season as the third-longest receiver behind Devante Adams and Rendall Cobbs after veteran receiver Jordy Nelson left the season. He has skills that could make him a useful option in the Packers’ games but would have to implement them to remain a viable option for the offense.
Geronimo Allison Family
He is the son of Melissa Glover and has an older brother, Deonte. Nickname G-Mo. His catchy first name was given to him by his dear mother, who wanted his son to have a unique name and to stand out in a community where drugs and gang violence reigned.
Geronimo Allison grew up in a crime-ridden area of Tampa, Florida, and was exposed to things like guns, drugs, and violence in ways that most children his age can only imagine. Nevertheless, the sport provided the little boy with an escape route and created a way to get him on the right track in life after a high school teacher, Anne Caparaso, helped him with his education. She was the wife of Spoto High’s soccer coach, Dale Caparaso. Miss Anne, as he calls her, helped his plummeting grade point average to a new life opportunity by providing him with private lessons and online instruction.

In addition to sports, he wants to help others have a chance at life and success, just as Miss Anne did for him by being either a coach or a therapist.
Geronimo Allison Height, Weight, Body Measurements

The Packers’ wide receiver may lack top-class sport, which may not be much, considering it is in its third year in professional football and has more room for improvement, but it covers the deficit with its frame and long arms, capable of making a big catch that less favored defenders can only imagine.
In its full length, Allison could provide a large catch radius for his quarterback, and he’s been doing that with Rodgers since he joined the team. With his long arms, he also avoids jams at the line of scrimmage, and in combination with good footwork and head fakes he can open up quite well.
However, his lack of short speed and low speed tends to limit his overall ability to open up despite his advantageous height. His career catch rate, which is only 57% – although not very bad for a receiver with poor athletics – could be increased, and his falls, which seem to be on easy catches, could be saved by coaching.
His body statistics include:
Height: 6’3” (1.91 m)
Weight: 202 lb (92 kg)
Arm Length: 32 7⁄8 in (0.84 m)
Hand Size: 9 1⁄2 in (0.24 m)
