Josh Reddick, whose full name is William Joshua Reddick, was born February 19, 1987, in Savannah, Georgia, to father Kenny Reddick and mother Cheryl Reddick. As a teenager, he was enrolled at South Effingham High School in Guyton, Georgia. During his time there, he played baseball on the school team but was excluded from the team twice due to his poor performance. However, he continued to train on his own and managed to move from shortstop to outfield position at the end of his time at high school. After finishing high school, Josh Reddick was accepted into Middle Georgia College, where he played baseball in the NJCAA and scored a 461 hit when he was a freshman.

Professional Career
To begin his professional career, Josh Reddick was named by the Boston Red Sox in the 2006 MLB Draft in the 17th minute of the MLB. Due to his growing popularity, he was named to replace Adam LaRoche in the major leagues on July 31st. This opportunity arose because Adam was traded and it was Josh Reddick’s debut in the major leagues. On that debut, he managed a ground out against Cla Meredith of the Baltimore Orioles, and in the ninth inning, he also scored for Rocco Baldelli.
