Judie Aronson Biography
Judie was born on June 7, 1964, in Los Angeles as Judith M. Aronson. It is not clear who her family members are or where she completed her primary and secondary schooling. However, the actress graduated from the renowned University of California, Los Angeles in 1981 with a degree in theater arts. She graduated in 1986.
Judie, however, entered the film industry at the age of 19. After starring Lisa Wellman in a guest appearance in The Powers of Matthew Star (1983) and Ronda in two episodes of Simon & Simon (1983), she made her film debut the following year on Friday, December 13: The Final Chapter. She portrayed the character, Samantha, in the 1984 horror flick, and Aronson rounded out the year as Randi White in the film Things Are Looking Up.
The following year, she switched from horror to comedy, playing Hilly in the comedy Weird Science. This was followed by a role as Patricia Hickock in the popular 1985 film American Ninja.
The rest of the 1980s was a busy time for Judie Aronson; the actress appeared in 10 other projects to round out the decade. These included Sledge Hammer! (1986), Full House (1987), One Fine Night (1988), and Charles in Charge (1989). Her busiest and most memorable role in the 1980s was as Sara Duncan in the television series The Pursuit of Happiness. Aronson appeared in 10 episodes of the series from 1987 to 1988.
Judie was visibly comfortable with her role as a guest actress and began the 1990s with another guest’s appearance in a single episode of the family comedy series Growing Pains. In the same vein, she was Kim in The Sleeping Car and Cathy in Cool Blue. The actress also appeared in her first music video (Can’t Live Without Your) Love and Affection. It was the accompanying video to the song of the American hard rock band Nelson.
In 1991 Judie Aronson appeared as Cassie Douglas in two episodes of Midnight Caller, Phoebe in Life Goes On and Gina in Teech, all of which were guest roles. For the remainder of the 1990s, she appeared in only one film, Desert Kickboxer (1992), and in a number of other television series. Where is She Now?
Since the turn of the 2010s, the actress’s career has been in decline. However, her skills as an entrepreneur and business owner have developed in the opposite direction.
She didn’t know she had the skills or the drive for the business until she came up with an idea for a company in 1992. Within a month of the idea coming to her, she had her first store, Handmade, fully furnished in a 10,000 square meter space, and was marketing the goods of over 150 artists, craftsmen, and creative people in Los Angeles. By 1997, she had opened five more Handmade stores before she sold the business and moved to New York.
During her stay in New York, she got into trouble when she lost all her money on the stock market. Undaunted, the actress moved immediately to revive her finances. For this, she returned to Los Angeles to revive her acting career. When the events of the past years repeated themselves and she tried to get her acting career going again, she was inspired again and another business idea was born, this time in the fitness niche.
Today Judie Aronson runs her own Pilates studio brand, RockIt Body Pilates. She opened her first Pilates studio in Manhattan Beach and opened another one a year later in Redondo Beach. Given the success she has had with her Pilates studio since 2009, it is doubtful that Judie will ever fully return to acting.
