Lea Katherine Thompson is an American-born actress known for her role in the Back to The Future trilogy as Lorraine Baines. She was born on May 31, 1961, in Rochester, Minnesota, United States of America. At the age of 20, Thompson learned from Mikhail Baryshnikov, a Latvian-born Russian and American dancer, choreographer, and actor, that although she was a wonderful dancer, she was too stocky and did not have the right body to become a prima ballerina. Lea then changed her focus to acting. She made her first film in 1983, in Jaw 3-D, an American horror-thriller movie. Later that year, in 1984, she starred in “All the Right Moves”, “Red Dawn” and “The Wild Life”. Lea’s most famous role is that of Lorraine Baines McFly in the Back to the Future trilogy.
