Lil Wayne is an American hip-hop artist who became known as the youngest member of the southern hip-hop group Hot Boys, which is signed under the label Cash Money Record.
Lil Wayne is widely known for his slurry style of rapping and was the figurehead of Bryan Williams’ own record label before he ended his longstanding contract with the company in June 2018. His sixth album Tha Carter III (2008) won him a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. It is his most successful album to date, having sold over one million copies in its first week in the United States.
Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. was born September 27, 1982, in New Orleans, Louisiana. The lollipop crooner grew up in a not very wealthy family. His mother was a cook and gave birth to him at the age of 19, and Wayne was only two years old when his parents divorced and his father, Dwayne Carter, left the family forever.
The rapper openly expressed his resentment against his biological father. In an interview with CBS, he explained that he would rather be Wayne than Dwayne because the older man had never been in his life. When asked if his father knew of his existence, Wayne said, “He knows now.
Wayne grew up in the impoverished neighborhood of Hollygrove and began rapping at a very young age. Although he attended McMain Magnet School, Wayne dropped out of school at the age of 14 to concentrate on music. A notable tragic event in his childhood was when he accidentally shot himself with a 9mm handgun. He survived, however, after an off-duty police officer Robert Hoobler took him to the hospital. Wayne was only 12 years old.
In 1991, Lil Wayne crossed paths with Cash Money Records brothers Bryan and Slim Williams, who took him under their wing. With his zeal and rap talent, his debut album Get It How U Live with the group Hot Boys was released in 1996. Since then, Lil Wayne has remained a big deal. He is 150 million dollars richer and the father of four children. He was once married to Antonia Wright (2004 – 2006), but is now single and has retired from music to pursue other interests.
This interest has yet to be revealed; whether dating again is one of them is not clear, but here is a breakdown of Wayne’s relationships with women over the years.
Lil Wayne’s Relationship Through The Years
In the midst of his growing fame, Wayne mingled with a few women and went out with them. Over the years, the rapper has been romantically involved with up to 22 women – he has married only one.
In fact, from the age of 16, when he had his first child, Lil Wayne has been a lover boy with his high school girlfriend, Reginae, the woman he later made his life partner. They got married on Valentine’s Day 2004, and the marriage lasted until 2006.
He began dating actress and model Lauren London, who gave birth to his third child, Cameron Carter, on September 9, 2009. Lil later got involved with the singer Nivea Hamilton and she gave birth to his fourth child, Neal, on November 30th, the same year as his third child. Then he also got the rapper Trina pregnant, but she had a miscarriage.
Lil Wayne and Dhea met in 2011 at the Phoenix nightclub and started dating, but it wasn’t meant to be, they broke up. Then Nicky Minaj came into the picture and it seems their relationship was more business than romantic. As expected, eyes wandered and tongues began to wag about a romance, but neither of them could refute the rumor.
More than just rumors, Wayne started dating Christina Milian in 2014, and by 2015 everything was fine. Other women who played a role in Wayne’s life were Candace Cabrera (2010 to 2014); Kat Stacks, who claimed to have slept with the rapper; Dana Lee and Wayne were involved in a romance for several years, and from 2009 to 2010 there was also Zena Foster.
The relationship between Tammy Torres and Wayne became more than controversial after it was revealed that she had cheated on him with his own protégé Drake. It was complicated because Wayne was in jail at the time for alleged weapons possession. He and the model were together from 2009 to 2011, and according to him, the worst thing was to hear Drake’s confession in prison, which no man deserves to experience.
While he nursed his broken heart and wounded pride, Wayne left behind several women who also nursed theirs. The star was associated with a host of other women, including Shenelle, Farrah Franklin, Karrine Steffans, Lauren London, and Meagan Good.
