Lori Bakker is a multidimensional American television preacher, motivational speaker, and author, popularly known as the better half of Jim Bakker, a former Assemblies of God pastor and founder of Morningside Church. Although she had a great childhood and later an abusive marriage, Bakker has since dedicated a larger portion of her life to serving God.

Jim Bakker’s wife published a book in 2000 entitled “More Than I Could Ever Ask”. The book describes the details of her adventurous life. After surrendering her life to Christ, Lori restored positivity in her life and has worked extensively for the spiritual enlightenment of people in need. With this in mind, she founded an organization called Lori’s House, which offers help to pregnant women and those who have suffered the pain of abortion.

She was born Lori Beth Graham on August 30, 1957, and her birth took place in Phoenix, Arizona. Lori was born into an American family and belongs to the white ethnic group. She grew up in a religious environment where she spent most of her early years attending church regularly.

As for her educational background, Lori has not shared many details about it. Therefore, the names of the institutions she attended and the certificates she earned are not currently known. However, it is known that her life took a drastic turn when she became a teenager. At that time she started taking drugs, partying and indulging in sexual activities.

When she turned 17, Lori entered her first relationship, which culminated in her first marriage. However, the relationship proved to be a terrible experience as she was constantly abused by her then-husband, whose identity is unknown. During her marriage, she was reportedly forced by her husband to terminate five pregnancies. At the age of 22, after her fifth abortion, she had complications that led to a total hysterectomy.

In the meantime, she was again taking medication to overcome her depression. When she could no longer cope, Lori Bakker continued and ended her 10-year marriage. She then joined God’s First Gathering in Phoenix, where she experienced spiritual growth and transformation.

She turned a new leaf and not only gave her life to Christ but also began to work in the house of the Lord. She later enrolled in the Master’s Commission discipleship class, where she received her church ministry certificate in 1991. From that time on, she worked as a pastor for over a decade, participated in several outreaches and began evangelism. She also visited Mexico and El Salvador as a volunteer for the Master’s Commission.

Then in 1994, she founded a non-profit organization called “Grief to Joy Mission”. Its mission is to provide help and motivation to women who are dealing with pain after abortion, trauma and other critical issues. Her work in this group was received with great applause and published in several magazines, including Charisma and many others.

Recently she founded another organization called Lori’s House, which provides support to pregnant women in difficult situations. Lori has understood the trauma that comes with abortion and helps women in such situations to overcome their trauma. She is also currently the president of this organization.
