Marcus Mariota is one of the most outstanding quarterbacks the Tessessee Titans have ever had in the National Football League. Marcus Mariota, who was nominated by the Titans in the 2015 NFL draft, was the second overall perspective selected in the draft. He played college football with the Oregon Ducks football team from 2012 to 2014.

After his impressive college career, Marcus accepted several awards on his behalf, including the Heisman Trophy, Walter Camp Award, Manning Award, Maxwell Award, Davey O’Brien Award, and Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award. Born as Marcus Ardel Taulauniu Mariota in Honolulu, Hawaii, the son of Alana Deppe-Mariota and Toa Mariota; Marcus was born on October 30, 1993, He has American/Hawaiian nationality and belongs to the Samoan and German ethnic groups. Marcus developed a strong interest in football at a young age and was inspired by Samoan quarterback Jeremiah Masoli. He then attended the Saint Louis School in Honolulu, where he participated in various sports activities, including athletics and soccer.

In his senior year, he led the St. Louis team to the state title with a record 11-1 win. He won the PrepStar Magazine All-West Region and the Interscholastic League of Honolulu Offensive Player of the Year. Upon completion of his high school career in 2012, he was named a NUC All-World Game and received the Hawaii Gatorade Player of the Year Award in 2010.

After graduating high school, Marcus was coveted by many universities with attractive scholarship offers. He then attended Oregon State University, where he continued his college career. In his first year with the Oregon Ducks, Marcus played in 13 games and led the Ducks to second place in the league with a 12-1 record. He won the “Pac-12 Freshman Offensive Player of the Year” award and the Offensive MVP of the 2013 Fiesta Bowl.

In his second year after his outstanding performance, he became the only player in Oregon’s history to score 4,000 yards in a single season. Marcus also won the 2013 Alamo Bowl Offensive MVP and had his best career in the 2014 season, after which he won a number of trophies, including the Heisman Trophy, Maxwell Award, Davey O’Brien Award, and Walter Camp Award to name a few. In 2016, a 30,000 square foot Marcus Mariota Sports Performance Center opened in Oregon, built in honor of his outstanding achievements in school history.

Professional Career and Stats

Marcus Mariota, who joins the NFL Draft 2015, was selected by Tennessee Titan as the second overall choice in the second round of the draft. He signed a four-year contract valued at $24.213 million, which includes a signing bonus of $15.870 million. Currently, in his fifth season for the Titans, Marcus ended his rookie year with a record of 12 games, 19 touchdowns, and 2,818 passing yards with 10 interceptions.

In the 2016 season, Marcus had 26 touchdowns and 3,426 passing yards with 9 interceptions. He was named substitute for the 2017 Pro Bowl and ranked 50th in the NFL’s 2017 Top 100 Players list, scoring 13 touchdowns, 3,232 passing yards, and 15 interceptions in the 2017 season. The Titans took Marcus’ fifth-year contract option on April 18, 2018.

Mariota comes from a family of athletes; he was born to Alana Deppe-Mariota and Toa Mariota and grew up with his only brother Matthew Mariota. Like Marcus, Matthew Mariota plays college football for the Oregon Ducks in the tight end position. Matthew Mariota is currently in his junior year; Matthew Mariota also studied sociology.

Although there is not much information about Marcus’ parents, he has lived in a few relationships so far. He is currently meeting with Kiyomi Cook. Cook is a soccer coach for middle school girls; she was born in Gresham, Oregon, the daughter of Karl Cook and his wife Carol. She grew up with her two siblings Kevin and Kerri Cook. Kerri Cook played soccer for the Tennessee State University team while earning a nursing degree. Kevin, on the other hand, graduated from the University of San Diego, where he also played soccer for the school team; he has a degree in civil engineering and currently coaches the Seattle United soccer team.

The lovebirds first met when they were at Oregon State University. Their relationship first saw the light of day in 2015 when they were spotted at Mariota’s NFL draft party in Honolulu, Hawaii. After that, the duo was repeatedly spotted separately at public events. Cook has a degree in human physiology and has been working as a middle school coach for the University School of Nashville since September 2015. Prior to their relationship, Marcus dated a lady named Nicole Watase.
