Olive Marie Osmond was born on October 13, 1959, in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Olive May and George Virl Osmond. She was the eighth of her parents’ nine children and became part of the family’s show business from childhood on.
Her first experience with the show business of her family was at the age of four when she appeared with her brothers on the Andy Williams Show as part of the Osmond Brothers. Although it was her only appearance with the group until the 1970s, she continued to hone her skills as a singer and in 1973 she released her first single, Paper Roses, which quickly shot to the top of the Billboard Country Music charts.
