Once upon a time, it was considered a kind of taboo that a man or even a boy could be seen near the kitchen or offered help not to talk about the actual cooking. Like so many other pointless stereotypes, this one is gradually diminishing thanks to the men who love food and its preparation and who worked hard to make it happen. Lately, we have so many lumps who own the kitchen and make tons of money from it. Of course, we cannot talk about male chefs and leave out Nick Stellino – the man is a widely recognized chef and a “walking Italian cookbook”.
Nick Stellino Biography
Nick Stellino was bred in Palermo Sicily, the same Italian city where he was born on May 1, 1958. As he grew up, there was so much good music, food, love, and family around him, but he longed for one more thing. He wanted to travel to America, to the land of football. Around 1975 he finally fulfilled this dream when he traveled to Eureka in the United States for his studies.
He started a career as a stockbroker, and it might be tempting to say that life was a bed of roses for Nick from then on, but it wasn’t. He faced a number of challenges, but because he was determined, he was able to rise above all of them to become known as a successful stockbroker more than 10 years later.

Despite this success, the love of his childhood came to a boil, and Nick had no choice but to retire from his career as a stockbroker. The loss of a beloved uncle and the need to rehabilitate a broken knee that he had contracted during a soccer game were the two changers for him. With his knowledge of food in his back, he was looking for a job as a cook but was repeatedly fired because he had no formal experience. He decided to become a dishwasher; at least this meant that he was directly in the kitchen in addition to the actual cooking.
Nick rose steadily and patiently by apprenticing with some really good chefs like Celestino Drago, and soon the beginning of a cooking show was his top priority. His goal was to reach more people with his love of cooking Italian dishes, and soon he had his audience. He started the series Cucina Amore, which subsequently had a second and third sequel. To date, Nick has hosted several cooking shows, including Nick Stellino’s Family Kitchen (4 series) and Nick Stellino: Food, Love, and Family.
Interestingly, Nick has also successfully applied the knowledge he gained before and during these shows to several cookbooks. These cookbooks include Cucina Amore, Nick Stellino’s Family Kitchen, Mangiomo! Let’s eat! And let’s eat. All his cookbooks have enjoyed considerable success and acceptance.
Nick is also a motivational speaker and has appeared as a guest speaker in several shows. His acceptance also comes from national publications like Home Magazine, The New York Times, and Bon Appetit. Of course, he enjoys special recognition at food festivals and other food-related events. He is loved and admired for his comedic lightness, creativity, and hard work.
The successful chef has also had some remarkable performances and successes. One of these is that in 1999 he was the first chef to be named Grand Marshal of the San Francisco Columbus Day Parade. In 2008 he was a celebrity chef at the Milwaukee Festa Italiana. He is also a motivational keynote speaker at the Executive Speakers Bureau.
