He was born Sawyer Christopher Fredericks on March 31, 1999, in Newton, Connecticut, as the youngest of three male children of Kirsten Fredericks and Carl Fredericks. His older siblings are Aric Fredericks and Skyler Fredericks. Sawyer Fredericks was home-schooled and grew up on an 88-acre farm in New York.
Fredericks began practicing his voice and learned to play the guitar when he was 11 years old. At 12, the young talented musician began performing at open mic shows, community events, and several other opportunities.
In 2012 Sawyer Fredericks participated in the Young Artist Talent Search, which took place in Pawling, New York.
