He also presented his talents at McDonald’s High School All-American Game 2004, where he was named Co-MVP. This success should have made his decision, as he decided not to attend college even though he signed up for the highly-rated Duke University, but went straight from high school into the league.

Shaun Livingston NBA Career

Shaun Livingston’s professional career began with the Los Angeles Clippers. They selected him with the 4th overall selection in the 2004 NBA draft. In the following season, Livingston started where he left off and played an important role in what was then described as the best Clippers season in franchise history. They had 47 wins and 35 defeats in the regular season and made it to the semi-finals of the Western Conference, where they lost to the Phoenix Suns in seven games. Livingston personally managed 61 regular-season appearances and 12 in the off-season due to injuries.

In the 2006-07 season, Livingston began to collect more minutes, points, assists, and rebounds per game. In a match against the Golden State Warriors on February 23, 2007, he recorded 14 assists. The injury, however, occurred only three days later in a match against the Charlotte Bobcats, where he suffered a paralyzing knee injury after landing clumsily after a missed storage. He dislocated his left kneecap and hit his leg sideways.

Livingston was told by medical professionals that he could have his leg amputated due to the extent of the injury. More than a year later, on June 20008, after rigorous and comprehensive physiotherapy, he was given permission to resume basketball activities. By that time his contract with the Clippers had expired, so he signed with Miami Heat. He spent a few months with the site before being transferred to the Memphis Grizzlies, who gave him up the same day.

In March 2007, a few months after he was abandoned by the Grizzlies, he joined an NBA D-League subsidiary of Oklahoma City Thunder. Livingston spent three weeks with the site before writing a multi-year contract with the Thunder but was suspended in December of this year. A brief stay with the Washington Wizards followed before joining the Charlotte Bobcats and then the Milwaukee Bucks for a year before being abandoned in Houston, where he was traded. He rejoined the wizards but was abandoned by the team after a month, prompting him to travel to Cleveland, where he spent the rest of the 2012-13 season.
