Jack Nicholson’s first experience as a screenwriter came in 1967 with the counterculture film The Trip. He later co-authored the satirical-musical adventure film Head from 1968. Nicholson has also directed three films, including the 1990 mystery film The Two Jakes and the sequel to Chinatown.
In the 1970s he was nominated for the Academy Award for the 12th time, making him the most nominated male actor in the history of the Academy. In 2013 it was announced that the legendary actor would retire at the age of 76. After that, the rumor circulated that he could not remember his lines while acting because he had memory problems.
